Dear Sir/Madam,



I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Memorial University of Newfoundland,
since June 2016. I received my PhD Degree in communications and electronics from
Telecom ParisTech in Paris, France, in June 2016.
My research interests include high data rate optical communication systems,
digital signal processing, and advanced modulations and coding. My current research
works focus on optical fiber nonlinearity compensa7on for high data rate
transmission systems. I proposed different new techniques to compensate for the
fiber nonlinearity in the context of long-haul superchannel transmission systems
(Nyquist WDM and Multi-band OFDM), such as the fifth-order Volterra-based
nonlinear equalizer and the inter-subcarrier nonlinear interference canceler. I am
also working on the experimental validation of the proposed nonlinear
compensation techniques. In addition, I have written a survey on fiber nonlinearity
compensation techniques for 400 Gbps and beyond optical communication systems.
In this paper, a detailed theoretical description and a comparison in terms of
performance and complexity of the well-known techniques, such as the digital back
propagation, the Volterra-based nonlinear equalizer, the phase conjugation
techniques and the perturbation approach is provided. An overview of other
proposed nonlinearity compensation approaches, including the nonlinear Fourier
transform and the machine learning-based approaches are given as well.
During my Ph.D thesis, I conducted research works as a part of the SASERSIEGFRIED
European project involving 24 partners from academia and industry
(Nokia, Coriant R&D, Orange …). My current work as a postdoctoral fellow is a part of
the OmOptics project, which involves both industrial and academic Canadian
partners. My participation to SASER-SIEGFRIED and OmOptics projects enhanced
my scientific rigor and my teamwork skills and improved my ability to communicate
effectively in an international professional context.
In addition to my research works, I was a teaching assistant for one semester at
Telecom ParisTech in information theory, error correcting codes and digital
communications.
